"Kiss the Son"

There aren’t too many people in this world who don’t enjoy the blessing of a kiss!

A little toddler wriggling in his mama’s arms reaches up to kiss the face of the one who holds him close! A weary husband returns home from a hard day’s work, longing for the kiss of his beloved bride and precious children! A struggling teenager, standing before his peers, as the high school valedictorian of his class, feeling awkward and unsteady, delights in the admiring kisses of family and friends! Almost everyone needs a kiss, loves to be kissed and enjoys kissing!

When our world caves in, plans fail, a loved one goes home to be with the Lord in eternity, a job is lost, a kiss is a comforting gesture, accompanied by a hug, to bring comfort and healing!

Psalm 2: 12a says, "Kiss the Son..." and the latter part of the verse reads, ..."Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him."

We struggle these days with issues of trust! The most wounded individuals don’t trust anyone and often struggle with trusting the Lord! A fatherless people don’t comprehend the rights of paternity. A motherless people know not the triumphs of nurturing!

The preacher says in Ecclesiastes 1: 15, "What is crooked cannot be made straight, and what is lacking cannot be numbered." We cannot undo what has been but we can impact what will be! Yes, this is a perverse and crooked generation, but let those be numbered who have kissed the Son, Jesus, Yeshua, the Lord!

Father God, so many are wounded, lonely and in despair because they have not known the joys of having loved ones and arms that embrace them with genuine caring, selflessness and purity! Lord, visit every sad, lonely, depressed and depleted person this Christmas and may they come to know the intensity of your love and may they kiss the Son and be engraved with the imprints of Your love that leaves an indelible mark in Jesus Name, Amen!
