"It's a Matter of Mathematics!"

We live in a world that just doesn't compute! Multiple marriages, multiple sex partners, multiple blended families, men marrying men and women marrying women are more than commonplace in this day! Children have multiple parents, yet no one to care for them!!!

Most of America's leisure time is spent in adding to our personal pleasures! Eating exotic foods of varied cultures are readily available to please even the most finicky of palates! Cell phones that connect us with the world within seconds exponentially expanding our potential to touch the ends of the earth. Intricate satellite and communications systems, technological advancements that escalate daily, internet opportunities and the like, but what is the quotient for all these pleasures, possibilities and playthings?

Children are the best-dressed and well-fed, and by appearances, cared for, yet, they are poor, lonely and spiritually anorexic, by-products of the self-indulgence that has kept their overseers preoccupied and subtracted from their day to day lives! Suffering from lack of parental guidance, they are bombarded with media hype, music that deafens/assaults their hearing and intelligence and they are vulnerable to the drug-induced melee surrounding their lives. All these variables create divided hearts and an equation that says, “More is less, less is more, good is rad, rad is bad, up is down and down is cool.” It just doesn't add up anymore! (Isaiah 5: 20).

Multiply this confusion by 365 days in a year, divide it by the minutes of quality parental time in a given season and the sum total equals a society of adults and children that are battered, shattered and splattered upon the circumference of their circumstances!

In a day that sings, “One is the loneliest number,” people, in and out of Church, are attempting to factor in relationships, sampling bedpartners, prior to marriage, seeking match-making services and frequenting clubs and “hot spots” in search of the perfect “10!”

These kinds of mathematics don't compute! No one can satisfy the needs deep within the human soul! No one can sew together a divided heart, one often segmented into multiple personalities. No one can satiate your needs where tomorrow you won't be wanting more and more and more! So, what is the solution then?

The Only One who can satisfy the longing of your soul, seeing all the computations of your lifelong equation, yet offering you infinite unequivocal love, hope and joy unspeakable, is God, Himself! “Hear, Oh, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.” (Deuteronomy 6:4).

One God, yet three persons, extends help to you everyday that will balance the scales of your life! Father God is always ready to embrace you, nurture you and direct you! Jesus, the Son of God, is ever ready to forgive you, heal you and save you from your sins. And God's Holy Spirit is willing to speak to you, comfort you and give you peace.

To the natural mind, this doesn't compute, but to the spiritual mind, One is always enough!

Lord, our world teaches that we must be surrounded with adoring people, people that flatter, people that chatter, people that matter! Lord, unless we learn to love ourselves with Your love, we cannot successfully love and commit to others. Father, be the One who counts in our lives! Jesus, be the One who multiplies miracles, blessings and healing into our lives! Holy Spirit, add unto us Your wisdom, peace and comfort and lead us in Your truth! Lord, may we become one with You in heart, mind and spirit and may we realize that in You, all triumphs are won in Jesus Name, Amen!
