Storms Stilled, Gales Silenced!
by Rev. Lorraine D. Coconato
August 31, 2003

If you have never experienced the torrential downpour and violent winds of a hurricane, being a New Yorker by birth, I can attest to the ferrocity of such a storm! At times throughout these types of storms, lightning, thunder, pounding rain and ferocious winds (gales-screaming winds) shook buildings and homes, bent trees, uprooted homes and lives creating havoc and fear. Oftentimes, after the storm, the water level was so high in some areas, that it seemed as if we could get into a canoe and row to the nearest convenience market!

Jesus has been known to rescue His children from the windstorms of life, even when the boat of choice is water-filled and beginning to sink! In fact, a very similar scenario occurred in Mark 4: 38 b, when the terrified and storm-tossed disciples said to Him, "...Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?"

The beauty of this scene was that the Lord arose from a nap and "...rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, 'Peace be still.'" These three simple words, "Peace, be still" were all that were necessary to bring a calm and a stillness upon the the boat and the traumatized disciples! Vision: (8-31-03, 11:30 am)

I saw Jesus (Yeshua) beckoning his children to get in a boat. It was not a large boat, but, each person that got in, fit in the boat. It was not propelled by a motor or by a propeller or any other device, but the L-rd said, "This ark is propelled by My Spirit." "When you get in the boat with Me, I will quiet the storms of Your life. I will give you peace that the world does not know."

I noticed the boat had water in it, but, was not sinking. As I looked at Him with inquiring eyes, He said, "Here, My child, a cup of water I give to you in My Name." And He proceeded to dip into the water in the boat and give me and everyone in the boat, a cup, but, it was not for drinking, as He poured the cup over my face and said, "Be refreshed, revived, filled with My Spirit, My hope and My love."

So, dear ones, step into the boat of eternity with the Living Lord and be refreshed, revived, filled with His Spirit, His hope and His love! Your life is not your own, but it has been purchased with the Blood of the Lamb and He will quiet the storms of your soul, as you remain within His ark of safety in the Name of Jesus, (Yeshua, in Hebrew) Amen!
